A photograph of the 1922 Kildwick Albion Cricket Club team; notable because it features a number of the young men of Farnhill and Kildwick who had fought in WW1, whose names are cropping up as part of the Farnhill WW1 Volunteers project.
We think we might have identified another of the players.

A number of our group photographs feature theatre performances in the village, of which there seems to have been quite a number.
This month's photograph is of an event which, we think, was put on by members of St. Andrew's Sunday school and took place in 1951.
We've been able to put names to quite a few of the performers; can you help fill in the gaps ?

This month's photograph is a 1931 Kildwick school group. Most of the pupils have been identified by John Lofthouse, who loaned us the photograph; and confirmed by Alan Hargreaves, who was there himself. Can you help fill-in the gaps ?

This month's photograph was taken by the Keighley photographer W. Speight. But we don't know what the event was or - apart from a few people - who was present. Can you help ?

This photograph is thought to be of a local "Young wives" group, taken in a field at the bottom of Priest Bank Road prior to an excursion. We don't know when it was taken or where the excusion was going to; but we do know the names of a few of the "young wives".

In the 1950, Kildwick church celebrated 1000 years of religious worship at St. Andrew's, with what they called a "Millenary Festival". There were special church services, concerts, and a pageant featuring people from Kildwick and all the "daughter" churches. This is the group photograph from that occasion.

The Sunday School room in the basement of Farnhill Methodist Chapel was often used for amateur theatricals. We have no idea when this photograph was taken or what the event was; but the late Gladys Crossley who, as a young Gladys Rishworth was a member of the cast, left details of many of the performers - and a few of the audience.

In 1955 St. Andrew's church opened a new church hall, in Station Road Crosshills. This
photograph
- originally thought to be of one of a traditional Whit walk - shows a procession, made up of members of the congregation, taken on that day.

A group of young people having
fun at Crag Top. Earlier in the 20th century there were quite a few places you could get refreshments on Farnhill Moor.

With this month's group photograph we pay tribute to the well-known Farnhill character and former Arkela of the local scout troop Winnie Smith, who died recently at the age of 90. Here's a photograph of Winnie and her troop putting on a gang-show in the Methodist school room.

A photograph of a
day trip to the seaside - probably 1949 or 1950, and most likely the choir of Farnhill Methodist Church. It's likely that the trip was to Morecambe, but we've not been able to determine where it was they stopped en-route to have their photograph taken.

This is the big one ! In 1946 an "end-of-war" party was held in the Sunday school of Farnhill Methodist Church. Over a hundred children and young people were there and, of course, they gathered for a massive group photograph. We've put names to 90 (!) of those present, leaving fewer than 20 "unknowns". Can you help us to complete the picture ?

From time-to-time there are water shortages in Farnhill and Kildwick. This photo shows a water tanker brought in to supply Kildwick - we think in 1950. For some reason it became the occasion for a
group photograph.

After the end of the second world war, a committee was set up to raise money for returning service men and women. This Welcome Home Committee organised a number of fund-raising events and we think this photograph, showing women of Farnhill and Kildwick, was taken at one that took place in the Institute in 1946.
