class=\"textLayer\">\n<h3><strong>Percy Walmsley&#8217;s WW1 Postcard Album<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Postcards were the text messages of their day and, throughout the war, Percy Walmsley collected the postcards sent to him from home as well as those he sent home from France.\u00a0 These were gather together into an album and loaned to the project by his grand-daughter, Kath Whitton.<\/p>\n<p>A Dawson&#8217;s notebook \/ Annie Dawson&#8217;s recipe book<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>John William Dawson served in the Royal Field Artillery during WW1 and kept a signals training notebook. and members of the Farnhill WW1 Volunteers Project were invited to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Graham, the project co-ordinator, gave a talk in assembly &#8211; explaining the project and giving the pupils an insight into what life was like during the war, both at home and at the front.<\/p>\n<p>The pupils then spent the day participating in three activity areas: baking, weaving &amp;
